Out of respect for the time commitments that our staff members make to give our client’s pets the best care possible, it is important that we know ahead of time if you need to cancel a scheduled visit. There is a 100% refund for cancellations of walks and visits with at least 24 hours’ notice, and for cancellations of overnights with at least 48 hours’ notice.
We are very selective when hiring employees, and go through many candidates and interviews before choosing someone who we know will be a good fit for our team. Once we choose that person, we call at least 3 professional references, and run a background check before hiring. After everything clears, we train them with a seasoned dog walker. We only choose the best dog lovers who we know will reflect our company’s passion for animal care and customer service!
We do our very best to accommodate clients with changing schedules! This includes last-minute additions. If we have the availability, we would be happy to schedule a walk or visit on short notice, with an additional rush fee of $10 that will be applied to your service. Overnights needed within 48 hrs of when they are requested will have a rush fee of $25. Please keep in mind, it is possible that your primary walker/sitter may not be available at the time of your request.
Yes! It is important for the safety of all animals associated with Doggie Bliss that the procedures involved with identification, pet licenses, vaccinations and monthly flea medications be followed. Please make sure your pet is up to date on:
- Initial puppy shots required, booster thereafter every three years
- Rabies: At 16 weeks of age, thereafter as required by law
- Name tag with current phone number(s), address, etc…
- Pet License
- Monthly flea medication
We have transitioned all existing clients with keys to have lockboxes at their home. This not only ensures that your keys stay securely on your premises, but keeps the key on location for any last minute emergencies. We are happy to supply a high quality Doggie Bliss lockbox for $30, or you are welcome to use your own.
Of course! Additional travel needed to retrieve, return or hand off keys is subject to an additional charge. Please email us at [email protected] to request your keys to be returned via standard mail, certified mail or to schedule a drop off ($20).
We require that our clients provide us with a starting time frame of at least 2 hours for each service so that our staff can fit in all of their walks with ease, allowing them to always be on time, and to not face too much stress when they hit traffic, hiccups in their day, etc. If you have a puppy who is less than 1yr of age, please feel free ask Doggie Bliss how we can narrow that window for your sweet pup.
For consistent schedules, we always do our best to assign one main dog walker for each client. For any requests outside of a normal schedule, we’ll always try to assign the primary walker first, but may need to assign a different walker if he or she is not available.
Our walkers come from all backgrounds within the professional pet care industry including previous dog trainers, dog walkers/sitters, dog daycare handlers, groomers and pack hikers. If they don’t have professional pet care experience upon hiring, then we have them train with a seasoned walker, and also offer pet CPR training.
We offer private overnight pet sitting and walks/visits out of our clients’ homes, but do not have a daycare/boarding facility, nor do we offer boarding in our sitter’s homes. Please see our services section for more details and pricing, or feel free to contact us directly with your questions.
Yes, we are fully licensed, bonded and insured! 🙂
We accept payments via credit card or bank account, which you will securely input into your online account (run through Stripe). Invoices go out every two weeks for the previous two weeks of services. If you have your payment method set to automatically be withdrawn, your card will be run the day after we send out the invoice so you have time to add a tip for your walker if you choose to do so. You can easily add your card/bank account to your account by logging in and clicking “Payment Method,” then following the prompts. If you would like assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us!
Yes! We are happy to say that we are open 365 days a year. Holiday rates do apply.
We are not certified trainers, but are always happy to reinforce any training techniques that the dog is currently learning. Normally we’ll go over any specific routine or training techniques during a meet-and-greet before we start walking the pup. Please be aware that we do not condone any harsh or physical corrections and do not allow our staff to do any scolding or yelling at any dog.
We at Doggie Bliss understand that some dogs may not be comfortable right away with a new person going into their home or leashing them up, so we always take our time and go at your pet’s pace, until we earn their trust and comfort. If there are any issues where we feel we cannot safely leash up your pup for a walk, we will contact the owners right away to see if there are any commands or treats to help the situation (given that the walker feels comfortable). If your dog has a bite history, it is your responsibility as the owner to disclose this information to Doggie Bliss so that we can make the best decision. If we cannot safely handle or leash your pup for a walk, we do reserve the right to refuse service.
