Out of respect for the time and availability our team sets aside for your pet, we kindly ask that you provide as much notice as possible if you need to cancel a scheduled visit.
-
Walks and daytime visits: Cancellations made with at least 24 hours’ notice will receive a 100% refund
-
Overnight stays: Cancellations made with at least 48 hours’ notice will receive a 100% refund
If a cancellation is made with less notice, the full service fee will apply, as our staff has committed that time to you and your pet.
At Doggie Bliss, we take great pride in the team we build — and we’re extremely selective when it comes to hiring.
We carefully screen dozens of candidates and conduct multiple rounds of interviews before choosing someone we believe will be an excellent fit. Once we’ve identified a strong candidate, we:
-
Contact at least three professional references
-
Run a thorough background check
-
Provide hands-on training with one of our seasoned, trusted walkers
We only hire genuine animal lovers who demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a true passion for pet care. Every team member is chosen not just for their experience, but because they embody our commitment to top-quality care and outstanding customer service.
Absolutely! We do our best to accommodate clients with changing schedules — and that includes last-minute requests.
If we have availability, we’re happy to schedule a walk or visit on short notice. Please note the following rush fees apply:
-
Walks or daytime visits requested within 24 hours: +$10 rush fee
-
Overnights requested within 48 hours: +$25 rush fee
While we’ll always try to schedule with your primary walker or sitter, last-minute requests may need to be assigned to another trusted team member, depending on availability.
Thanks for understanding — we’re here to help whenever we can!
Yes! We do ask that all pets in our care are healthy, protected, and properly identified — for their safety and the safety of others.
We strongly recommend that all pets are:
-
Up to date on core vaccinations, including puppy shots and boosters
-
Vaccinated for rabies in accordance with state and local law
-
Wearing a name tag with your current phone number and address
-
Licensed with your local city or municipality
-
On a monthly flea and tick prevention regimen
We trust our clients to keep their pets well-cared for and safe — and appreciate your partnership in maintaining a healthy environment for every pup in our pack!
Yes — we require a lockbox at your home for key access. This helps keep your key secure on-site and ensures our team can provide care even in last-minute or emergency situations.
You’re welcome to use your own lockbox, or we can provide a high-quality Doggie Bliss lockbox for $30.
Live in a secured building or have unique access needs?
We totally understand — and we’re happy to work with you to find the best solution. Just reach out and we’ll make it work!
We require a 2-hour time window for each visit to ensure our walkers can comfortably and reliably complete all scheduled services throughout the day.
This flexibility helps account for:
-
Traffic
-
Weather
-
Delays with earlier visits
-
And the natural rhythm of a full walking schedule
It allows our team to stay on time without feeling rushed — which helps us give each pet the calm, focused attention they deserve.
Have a puppy under 1 year old or a pet with special timing needs?
We totally get it! Just reach out and we’ll do our best to narrow your time window when possible.
For clients with a consistent schedule, we always do our best to assign a primary walker who gets to know you and your pet.
If you request services outside of your usual days or times, we’ll still try to schedule your primary walker first — but if they’re unavailable, we may assign another trusted team member who’s familiar with your pet’s routine.
Our goal is always to provide personalized, reliable care — with as much consistency as possible.
Our walkers come from a variety of professional pet care backgrounds — including dog training, pet sitting, doggy daycare, grooming, and group hiking. Many join us with years of hands-on experience.
If a new team member doesn’t have prior professional pet care experience, we provide:
-
One-on-one training with a seasoned Doggie Bliss walker
-
Optional pet CPR and first aid training
-
Ongoing guidance and support from our leadership team
We make sure every walker is fully prepared to provide safe, attentive, and loving care — and trained in the Doggie Bliss way before being assigned to any clients.
We don’t offer boarding or daycare at this time, and our sitters do not board pets in their own homes.
Instead, we provide private overnight pet sitting and daytime walks or visits in the comfort of your pet’s own home — where they feel safe, relaxed, and happy.
For details and pricing, please visit our Services page or feel free to reach out directly — we’re always happy to help you find the right care option for your pet!

Yes! We’re happy to provide care 365 days a year, including all major holidays.
Please note that holiday rates apply for services scheduled on these dates.
While we’re not certified dog trainers, we’re always happy to reinforce any training techniques your pup is currently working on. We’ll typically go over your dog’s routines and any specific cues or behaviors you’d like us to support during the initial meet-and-greet.
Please note:
We never use harsh corrections, scolding, or physical discipline of any kind. Our approach is always based on positive reinforcement, patience, and compassion.
If your pup is in training, let us know — we’re happy to help keep things consistent!
At Doggie Bliss, we understand that not all dogs are immediately comfortable with new people. That’s why we take a gentle, patient approach, going at your dog’s pace to build trust and reduce stress during introductions.
If a dog shows signs of fear, aggression, or hesitation, our walkers will proceed with care. If we’re unable to safely leash or handle your dog, we’ll reach out to you right away to ask about helpful commands, techniques, or treats — as long as the walker feels comfortable continuing.
If your dog has a history of aggression or has bitten someone in the past, you must disclose this to us.
This allows us to make informed decisions about safety for both your dog and our team.
In cases where we determine that a dog cannot be safely handled, we do reserve the right to decline or discontinue service.
